Jan-Holger Hennies works with cameras, microphones and computers to create films, transmedia projects and artistic research: often around political conflict, contexts of violence and practices of resistance.

As a director, cinematographer and/or editor he has been part of independent documentaries for cinema as well as artistic video productions and installations for physical and virtual spaces. The results of these collaborations have been internationally shown and awarded.

Besides, he regularly creates audiovisual content with/for artists, cultural and political organisations.

Currently, Jan also works as a freelance lecturer at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture and the City (GTAS), TU Braunschweig. He is an MA graduate from the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology at the University of Manchester (UK) and lives between Berlin and Mexico City.
